CORONAVIRUS: Stay Alert to Stay Safe. If you have a high temperature, new continuous cough or have lost or noticed a change to your smell & taste - stay at home! Introducing our NEW eConsult service… Click here to answer some simple questions to help us answer you quicker! Practice staff have been working tirelessly since Christmas, without a break, to organise and support the Covid Vaccination Programme. This is in addition to operating a full Covid secure general practice and treating patients affected by Covid. We ask our patients to support this effort by doing your part in the following ways: You will receive a text message from us (can someone take a screenshot and share please) inviting you for your second vaccination. If you ignore this it prevents others from taking the space. Please DO the following: • Prioritise this appointment by postponing other arrangements • Respond to us as soon as possible (within 8 hours) • Accept the appointment and attend it. If you do not that dose may be wasted, whereas others can have it • If you have an appointment in a mass vaccination centre planned then please DECLINE our invitation so it can be reissued. • If you struggle with a link then please ASK a friend or relative and if that is not possible then call our reception team. • Please remember that if you are under 50 and awaiting your first vaccination or had your first vaccination at Taunton Racecourse or Shepton Mallet please DO NOT call us. Please contact the national booking system online or by calling 119 Failure to do this adds a huge administration burden to us as we will need to try and reach you by telephone. This is not always possible and you may need to arrange the second vaccine yourself. Currently the nearest centre with vaccine available is Exeter. Thank you for your support

Medication & Vaccination

Repeat Prescriptions

When you have a week’s supply of tablets left, please call 01278 661428 (between 9.15am and 1pm) call at the surgery, write, order online. If you require your prescription to be posted to you, please enclose an SAE.

Please give 24 hours notice of repeat prescriptions, or 4 days if you have your prescriptions dispensed ready for collection from the surgery.

Medication can be collected from the dispensary between 9.15am to 5.30pm. Please note the dispensary is closed between 1pm-2pm daily for the collection of prescriptions. It would be appreciated if you could use the computer form when requesting prescriptions and quote your personal computer number, which is in the top right hand corner. A post box has been provided inside the front door for repeat prescriptions to save queuing at the dispensary window.

If you are in doubt about your medication, please make an appointment to see your doctor. Remember, it may be cheaper to get a pre-payment card, if you need a lot of prescriptions in the course of a year.

With immediate effect we will be asking you to nominate a pharmacy so that we can send your prescription electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. You will no longer be able to collect paper prescriptions from the surgery.

Urgent Medication

To obtain urgent medication out of hours and at weekends, please see list displayed in the waiting room. Alternatively, please call NHS 111 for assistance.

Vaccinations & Immunisations

It is important that your children are fully immunized against all childhood diseases and clinics are held monthly. Appointments are sent at the appropriate time, but if in doubt ask your Health Visitor.

If you plan to go abroad, please contact us well in advance; it many take two months to fit in a full course of immunisations. This is performed by appointment with the Practice Nurse. Unfortunately we are unable to give travel vaccinations less than 6 weeks prior to travel. Patients will need to access a local Travel Clinic should this be the case.

Patients living in North Petherton / Bridgwater do not have their medication dispensed by the practice but may collect the paper prescription from the surgery. However, the practice is able to dispense medication for patients living more than one mile from a chemist.
